New Moon ritual

Many greetings all,

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for a new moon ritual. I specifically want to gain motivation as well as patience in all aspects of my life, especially my career. I currently drive about 100 miles just to go to work and it has become very taxing on my mental state. I’ve been doing what I do for almost 9 years now and I love WHERE I do it at but I need help in keeping up with it. Motivation is the key to keep doing this and I just need any help you lovelies are willing to offer me.

Depending on how much time and effort you want to take, you can keep it very simple.

Start with preparing your space and yourself. If you want to cast a circle, prepare for this how ever you might normally do.

At the least for a ritual I would light a candle… but in your case I would light three different coloured candles.

which is also fitting because it is the number three, and three is a good number for witches/wiccans, unless it is karma biting you.

The colours I would use for my candles and why:

White - Attracting, Purifying, Cleansing, Balancing, Clarity, Divination, Grounding, Guidance, Optimism, Peace, Spirituality, Truth, Will Power and Workplace Magic.

Red - Courage, Creativity, Energy, Motivation, Action, Change and Overcoming obstacles.

Yellow - Action, Learning new skills, Happiness, Intellect, Inspiration, Intuition, Knowledge, Wisdom, Stimulation and Travel.

If it were me, I would light each candle in the order listed. Again, your option, but you can either say something as you light each candle, or visulise in your mind what you want from each candle as you light them.

If you are only going to do the candles, I would sit near them or between them (are all 3 on your altar or would you place them in a triangle and sit in the middle? - again how ever you choose to do this)

Focus on your intent and meditate on what you are seeking. If you are of the type, voicing your desires to the universe, the goddess or whomever you work with is another option.

If you are good at rhymes when casting spells, you might have one your wrote before the ritual, and now is the time to say it. This does not need to be a rhyme (I for one can only rhyme when I feel great passion for something).

Do not be scared of writing it down and reading it out during your spell work.

In fact, having it written down and then burning it in the red candle might be a great idea, as you are re-enforcing the changes you are looking for. Just make sure you have somewhere safe to let the paper burn once it is alight. Safety first!

At the end You might want to journal your ritual and your intent - make it physical so to speak. Or… writing in a journal could be your new moon ritual all by itself.

If you work in a circle for your ritual, close the circle once you have finished.

Now - if you did write your spell down to read out and or burn, have a copy handy. try to keep this copy on a small piece of paper and the words as tiny as possible. This will allow you to include your spell in a spell jar to bring you the things you desire and use it as an ornament in your car.

As you are driving to and from work, you can look at the tiny spell jar and it will always be forefront in your mind, reminding you of your ritual, and hopefully, keep your motivation going.

All the above are suggestions, and not to everyone’s tastes.

Hopefully you find something worth taking from my reply, even it is the spark of an idea you come up with.

Edit - I forgot to mention. If you have the ability to play pod casts in your car, listening to something that keeps your spirit alive as you are diving will help too. Music can be a good thing to incorporate with your new moon ritual, so consider including that too.

I would love to hear how it goes if you are ok sharing. Just how you felt and how well it worked for you.

Remember to adjust things in the ritual to how you feel it should be done too.

I would absolutely love to share how it goes! And thank you again for the help.
