I collected about a gallon of rainwater last week at night. My questions are: should I filter it and save it to charge under a specific moon? Since I collected it at night is it already charged and therefore already moon water; can I filter the bugs and stuff out and use it as such now? I’ll be dividing it up into clear mason jars and putting them out of reach of the sun. Any tips, hints, suggestions, and/or ideas would be very helpful. Right now my focus is on rituals that help with healing my body, and learning about Oracle and Tarot cards through doing (almost) nightly spreads for myself. Thanks in advance!

Your ideas are perfect to me. I definitely feel you should filter the water then it’ll be safe for any purpose magically that you want it for. Cheesecloth through a sieve will do it in a pinch. I’m not adept at filtering by other means such as charcoal and gravel ideas. You may want to look those up if you don’t wish to buy any filters.

That should be New Moon water then, mid last week was New Moon.
Or am I alone in making new moon water? It’s not ‘potable water’ tho.
I plan on just using coffee filters I have on hand. I’m not extremely worried about getting the water purer than that unless you guys would think it’s necessary. It’ll get most of the dirt and all the bugs. I appreciate your response so much, thank you!

That’s what I was thinking too, and that it’s probably already charged as such. I have coffee filters I’ll use when I filter the water later this evening and that’ll catch most everything. But heavy rain for days, meaning it wasn’t very dirty anymore, and a new moon, how could I resist the combo??

New moon is associated with my Patron Saint Adama so where water goes on the altar I use it.

In those conditions, yes, that would qualify as moon water, and you’ve got the right idea to store it away from daylight. Amber or cobalt blue glass bottles are good for storing moon-water long-term. I’ve done the same thing!
I filter it through cotton muslin, but if you just have coffee filters, that works too. The cotton just feels cleaner to me. I know some paper coffee filters have plastic-based glues or coatings.
You shouldn’t have to purify it any more than that, but I wouldn’t drink it. 
I’d not drink it ever if it’s rainwater. I put out glass bowls for moonwater and then filter that.
We had terrible smoke last week, it looked like dusk at midday and smelled like a fire.

Once upon a time when air pollution and forever chemicals wasn’t a thing I’d say it was safe, but anymore it isn’t. Some of our ancestors used to survive on rainwater in drier climates, though they may have still treated it, I don’t remember.
But yeah to clarify and reword that response, I wasn’t suggesting she drinks it in any condition.
[We had the Canadian smoke problem where I am as well. I’m also on the Canadian border.]

No worries lol I have exactly ZERO plans to drink it!! But I decided I would dedicate my first jar to cleaning my crystals (that can handle water). I also want to dedicate the water to Pandora and what she found at the bottom of her box after all the evil was released. I’m doing that today. In the meantime, please enjoy this affirmation

love it!!! I make moon-water and sun-water daily to drink it and absorb the great vibes from the moon and the sun. It actually made visible improvements to those who did not know what I was doing. I started with just the waters, and within 6 months, people were asking me what had changed? It was only the water.
So, I say…GO FOR IT!!!
