Just a quick introduction!

Hello fellow beautiful witches! :purple_heart:
I am Luna, an eclectic/ art/ chaos witch and I have been a solitary practitioner for over 8 years. This would be my first time ever connecting with other witches and I am super excited to share stories, knowledge and experiences. Above all I am excited about the feeling of belonging. I am very thankful for each and every one of you and a special thanks to the Pagan Grimoire for making this possible. Can’t wait to get to know you all more and grow together!

Blessed be!

Welcome Luna, it’s a pleasure to “meet” you and I’m glad you wandered into the community here. What was it that made you feel it time to venture out? I myself only joined a month or so ago, maybe it’s something in the air. :purple_heart:

Honestly, I have been following The Pagan Grimoire for quire some time and only recently discovered that there is a community and forum. Which I love, because not many mainstream witchcraft creators and influencers offer this at no cost. I am very grateful for this space and to be a part of it finally!

Hi digittal witch :waving_hand: Welcome

What you say about a pay wall today is very true. I began pursuing witchcraft training in the late 1990s :old_woman: and took classes or attended outer court events with different groups until I found my space. Even when I began formal training, I do no remember fees except those for supplies or those given out of respect for my teacher’s time & knowledge.

That being said, there wasn’t much of an opportunity for a witch to become a monetized brand at least not to the degree there is today and 90s newbies didn’t judge a witch’s validity based on their branded merch or number of followers.

If there had been such opportunities, would my teachers have charged more? Not sure, but I think it has more to do with the type of person like the web owners here :purple_heart: ) than periods of time.

But that’s just my opinion, what do you think?

Hello AerisK,

I was taught that no witch should expect, and definitely not require payment for any training she offers/performs. I made or bought anything I needed/wanted, just like my altar and altar supplies, etc. I have given things including money to those who helped me grow but was never charged for the teacher’s time. I think it would be like my mother charging me for teaching me to tie my shoes. Just doesn’t feel right.

The only formal training I have had outside the coven was as a druid and all I had to pay for was the materials. The training itself, including reading and evaluating my essays, was free of charge. I am passionate in my belief that no neophyte should ever have to make a monetary payment to pursue their desire to become the best witch they can be.

Let me jump off my soapbox and wish you bright blessings. :slightly_smiling_face:

Marcus,

Please, get back on your soapbox! I did some poking around online and found a website/forum charging 29.99/month for “witchcraft instruction”. I would definitely have been priced out of that learning.

It sounds as though you and I had similar experiences, thankfully. The real payment is when we past on what we learned and keep traditions alive.

btw . love your shoe tying comparison

Bright Blessings,
Aeris

I hope (and believe) that his site will provide opportunities for neophytes and teachers/elders/crones to connect in meaningful ways to spur positive growth and connectedness for all of us with the desire for same. I’m still new enough to the group that the jury is still out - but it’s really looking good. Blessed be!
