Even though ‘our’ new year starts after Samhain, we can still celebrate the traditional one as well…so we have two !

Happy New Year! We celebrate the winter solstice by candle lighting and incense. I have candles all in my yard and of course at the four directions. At the end of our ritual, I leave one candle burning in hopes of the returning Sun, but I also celebrate December 31 and cook Black-eyed peas and Turnip Green for New Years Day, a money drawing ritual, if anyone remember that tradition. I don’t care for either, but I found great recipes for both. HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone here!
