Hi, I’m a transgender male, and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what to put in an anti-dysphoria spell jar. I’d look on line, but a ton of helpful sites are blocked or unavailable. Any ideas would be very welcome, thanks!
Merry Meet and Question Chisme,
That is a wonderful question, and believe it or not, I am confident that YOU will come up with this spell and pass it on to everyone else. I suggest, what do YOU think needs to go into that jar? This is YOUR jar, so it has to have meaning for you. I would select your items based on how strong of a feeling it provokes from you. All the discomforting items to represent the emotions are what you need to collect, even representations. Something happened with birds at a beach, then you can collect some sand, or shells, or feathers…or all, or something else…seaweed, what reminds you of that moment. Write your own spell, I prefer rhyme, but make it from your heart. Magick is about the intention, you won’t need to use a “specific” item, oil, spell. However, when you feel more comfortable in your practice, you will probably start incorporating other items in your retinue. Start small, and start with smaller (less expensive, items) in the beginning. You will learn what works best with you, then follow that path, but do not neglect other areas of the craft. Sorry to be so long-winded, I hope this helps you out. Love the picture of the pup ![]()

@Lady-Gene, I’m fairly new to the craft and my friend suggested this for practice or whatever. I’d like to go by the (theoretical) book because of how new I am, but many sources have told me similar to what you said, so I’ll try that!
Thank you!
P.S. It’s my dog I love him <3 :3
You do you, baby….

You have the cutest dog!
Greetings Chisme,
I suggest looking into resources online and in literature on activating the Divine Masculine/Divine Feminine. We all carry both genders within us energetically, and there are ways you can learn to tap into your own energy to enhance it.
Spell jars are one way of going about it, but there are many others. Distilled down to it’s absolute beginning elements - you want to tap into strong male archetypes, such as those depicted from the Tarot, and objects that depict the masculine elementals and symbols - fire and air, and the wand and sword. If you want to approach it from a traditional perspective, that should get you started.
Cheers, and welcome! ![]()
