I got my birth chart done a few months back, and I’m having a resurging interest in learning more about astrology. My sun and moon are in Pisces, and my Rising Sign is in Cancer. I feel that this combo describes my general personality quite well. But when it comes to the signs of the other planets, I feel a bit confused and unsure about how those work together. For example: Mercury is in Aries, and according to the website I read from, that means that I’m basically a very expressive, assertive, and blunt speaker. While I can communicate like this, I just don’t feel that it’s natural for me to talk that way the majority of the time and find myself to be much more gentle (sometimes even shy, other times more effervescent) in my speech. But as I said, I’m still learning, so I would appreciate any explanation on how the planets influence me and how that works with the Sun-Moon-Rising Sign combo.

I found a lot of grounding in my understanding of these aspects in “you were born for this” book/e-book from Chani Nicolas and I use her app (which has a VERY good free version) to get more detailed with it. i find that if you pick one author/speaker on the topic and lean into their way of describing astrology that you can start to feel into the insights they are offering through your own lens overtime
The planets are one component, but what HOUSE the planet is in has much more to do with your personality. If you’re interested, let me know what house Aries/Merc is in and I could offer some ways to start looking at that dimension of yourself with some large archetype ideas that might lead you to seeing things more “you” centred
