New to this... But Eager

Hello, my name is Kally but I go by MorriganVale.

I’m highly sensitive and I know I’m being called for more. I’ve always felt different…alone… even in a crowd. I get along with animals better than I do people. I’ve felt misunderstood most of my life.

I am a sponge when it comes to learning and most of my knowledge is self taught. I have some crystals, 2 or 3 small candles and myself… Im hoping someone who has years of practice under their belt to help me on my journey.

Welcome!

I know how you feel about everything you shared. What animals do you connect with most?

There is sooo much information on sooo many subjects. Where were you hoping to start?

Blessings on your path :waxing_gibbous_moon:

I’m starting from the beginning from ground level, and the not knowing where to start even is overwhelming me. Pretty much any animal when I was younger we had cattle, horses, dogs and cats. I can feel them. And I may sound crazy saying that. Some days it’s dulled down and then other days it’s super sensitive.

Fancy Friday MorriganVale,

I “talk to the animals”. I had a nice conversation with a coyote at a nature preserve here. I talk to the birds…

Nice! My aunt and uncle have a ranch, so I’ve been around horses and cattle since I was a kid too. We always had dogs and cats as well. They’re the best, superior to us in basically every way that matters. :pink_heart:

Since there is so much out there to explore, I think the best way to narrow it down is to figure out what you’re interested in. You mentioned you have some candles and crystals. There are tons of books, websites and so forth on candle magic and what stones can teach us. I won’t sugarcoat it: there is a lot of crap written on Pagan subjects, and a lot of the stuff you read starts to become repetitive. My go-to is a website like Goodreads. If I find a book that looks interesting, I read lots of reviews on it.

Scott Cunningham’s books are really good for starting out. He was Wiccan which may not be your path, but he was solid and his books can at least give you an idea of the flavour of things. A starting point.

Ultimately, who and what are you drawn to? What speaks to your soul? What stirs something in you? Candles? The Good Folk? Spell casting? A certain culture? I would say, follow these.

I hope this helps :green_heart:

Welcome to the forum @MorriganVale.

I’m pretty new here also but wanted to a say hello and welcome you to the group.

Like you, I’m highly sensitive and would sit and talk to an animal any day before most people. lol. This is a great place to not feel so alone, I’m already learning that.

There is so much information it can be mind boggling, but this place is a great resource to use.

Merry met.
