New and introductions

Hi, I’m introducing myself as I am new but have been reading for a while. I’m a lone practitioner, brought up in a fairly religious family but have a history of practitioners in the family. I use herbs and nature, foraging and medicine is a new path for me but one I feel called to. I have had the Cailleach as a guide for some time and have always been able to talk to spirits, I frequently got into trouble for this as a child but never lost the ability.

No friends or family practice and I live in an area it is hard to connect with others, so saying hi here and I look forward to chatting and taking part more.

Thank you for reading.

Wonderful Wednesday B,

Welcome to the group; most of us are “returning” to our roots from where we started. There is much to find out here. I have started a daily tarot read if you wish to join, it is for all of us to practice our tarot skills. Lady Gene :turtle:

Welcome. It is not often I see some that works with the Cailleach, so happy to hear more if you would like to share.

Thank you, I shall join that.

I am more than happy to chat about her, I am in awe of her power but I so enjoy her guidance, she has been (I have been?) with her for a long time. I can just detail my time with her, or I can answer specific questions. I look forward to sharing.

Even if I have work to do I can be easily distracted

So, how did you meet her? NGL, I had to cast Google spell for her name…

Welcome, B!

Now that’s an unusual one - I heard of the Cailleach forever ago, but I had to look it up to be sure. Very interesting!

I’ve also interacted with spirits from a very young age, though when awake it’s fairly limited to the gift of clairsentience (my strongest ability.) When asleep it’s an entirely different story, but in a way we’re similar!

Cheers.

Not to derail an intro, but had to cast Google spell on clairsentience, and I still don’t get it.

How is that different than being an Empath? (which I am, I just sux at it because Autism)

No worries! I will try to make this short. (We all know how this is going to go…:joy:)

The difference between clairsentience and empathy is having the ability to acquire detailed information from what you’re sensing.

If you were to put an empath in a room with a person experiencing a strong emotion, the empath would pick up on the emotion, nothing more.

If you were to put a clairsentient in the same room, they would both pick up the emotion, and flashes of accurate information on that person to determine what’s causing the emotion. It’s like blending empathy with claircognizance.

Clairsentience also goes beyond that. It’s an extrasensory way to read all energies, not just emotions. If you put me in a room with a spirit in it, I can immediately pick up on the spirit’s presence - I can feel their movement, and both feel and acquire information on that spirit through that feeling.

I know, it’s still long… but I tried. Cheers.

(Edited as an attempt to make it shorter LOL.)

You did a good job, yes I see. Probably because of my autism I can never do that, as I

can’t properly interpret normal social cues anyways, so why should I get more subtle ones?

I just get overwhelmed in crowds, and IDK what’s going on, I just know it’s blasting me.

Now, spirits, I can probably sense as well as you, I just don’t get a lot of the details.

Thanks! It’s very hard to condense all the things I know, so I worry that my answers are going to turn into lectures lol. That’s good to hear.

I had a feeling () that you had similar ability too, when I read your experience with your familiar a while back.

I have no idea if your neurodivergence would affect your ability. It’s possible it might. If you want to test yourself, I wrote a mini-guide here: https://forum.pagangrimoire.com/t/could-this-have-been-a-haunted-object/2086/10

(It’s the 2nd method.) I also made some comments in the replies after that you might find interesting.

Regardless, it brings me joy to be around people who understand that kind of experience. :yellow_heart:

Cheers. :lotus:

Honestly, she has always been with me.

The first time I ‘met’ her was when I was young, I was screaming by the sea and she came to me, this old lady to comfort and scream with me. But it wasn’t scary being screamed with.

I was too young to know properly, I spoke about her and was told to not be daft etc. But she was always with me from then on. Times of strife and difficulty. When I’m in nature running, she comes to me in various ways. Sometimes sitting quietly, sometimes so, so tall and protective.

Ishe enters my dreams, she has entered my partners dreams (a tale in its own right).

Living where I do, my family having its history, I feel deeply grateful that the Cailleach has chosen me to be present with. I have many instances but I feel this post is already too lond, sorry about that.

This resonates, it would be nice to chat more here if you would be open to that?
