I’m currently in the middle of deciding if I want to have an open discord group so that fellow witches can converse via chat. But I’m not sure if that’s a good idea. Or if I should just forget about it, I’m not too sure.
Discord is what my local coven uses for communication within the group,
we have a web site for public with a calendar for events and such.
Works out pretty good. Depends on the size of the group, and the purpose.
I’m not on any other Discords.
What I thoroughly dislike is chat rooms that many forums have because it diverts
traffic away form longer-lasting communication in favor of temporary communication.
Glad none here. Same thing with Discord voice channels. It’s not a good idea, IMHO.
what is the purpose behind your idea? promoting practices and discussions, or finding likeminded people for chats and possibly friendship?
For being able to talk to like minded people.
Then I would probably stick to something easier to manage. Discord can get out of hand at times, and can be a lot of work to manage. But, if you are ok with that responsibility, then that might be a good option for you.
Or, create the group and only invite those you have had some form of contact with and screened them to be safe to be in the group.
