I’m beginning to feel very excited about the upcoming near-total lunar eclipse this coming week. It will be the first time in years that Northern California has a shot at seeing it.
I’m looking for a spell to release old, negative energy I’ve held onto. While I love the knot ritual as described by @Lady-Gene. Is there another release spell you might recommend, especially given the high energy of this coming full/blood moon?
Being an April Aries i like fire muahahah!!! A nice bonfire in the backyard, i toss herbs in the fire for gifts and to warm my soul. Everyone has different talents in their crafts. I’m an empath with a huge energy battery (what i call it) I’m being called to reiki to harness my skills. I’ve been practicing a supernova of energy to wipe clean anything hanging on to me. This moon also gives me huge vibes to call on your ancestors for help.
One of my favorite past-times around eclipses, is doing a global and personal energy reading before and after, to see what it changed on both the individual and world-level… a practice inspired by some tarot readers I used to follow on Youtube.
But during the actual eclipse, due to my usual sensitivity, I usually don’t do much. I will spend the actual day with about 50 tons of personal shielding and rest…
My suggestion for your purposes is performing a cord-cutting with what you want to release. Or if you’re in a situation like me, meditating with your patron deity. Some deities are particularly good at helping you release toxic energy.
According to timeanddate.com, I should be able to see the maximum eclipse around 9:12 pm… IF there isn’t any overcast or fog. That’s the bane and blessing of living in the SF Bay Area. There’s always summer fog or low clouds that obscure full moons, eclipses, fireworks displays, etc. If it’s aerial, it’s likely to be hidden at night.
I personally use it as a time for reflecting on my magick so I can figure out what I should utilize while others I just don’t use. I’ll also use the energies to banish away any unwanted spirits from harming me or my loved ones
Sadly it was foggy for me that night, but I did get a nice foggy pinkish dot in a photo. LOL This one had an interesting effect on me that was actually better than previous ones.
My dad’s a photographer and said he got a good shot though! If I get a copy I’ll post it here.
Oh, yes, please do! I saw a golden glow in the clouds at one point but since I turn into a pumpkin around 10 pm, I didn’t stay up to see if there was a better view. It sucks to be an early riser at times. I’m delighted someone else was able to see at least a “dot.”
I asked him if he had a shot in full-eclipse and he said the clouds rolled in and it was “getting past his bedtime.” If only I had a nice telescopic lens for my camera!
