# New to the community

Hi witches and sorcerers!! I have a few requests.

I’ve been practicing witchcraft for a few years now but I’m still not fully connected to the craft.Recently I started to make my own spells and a lot of them worked pretty well,but I’m concerned about backfiring and not having enough protection.So are there any tips or tricks I should be aware of?

Welcome to the Forum!

I don’t do a lot of spells other than candle magick but check out the web site lots of good info.

I’m sure some other members will have some advice, but what kind of spells are you crafting?

Welcome! We’re glad you’re here!

I was given the sage advice when I wanted to start magic to start with strong protection spells before anything else in case of backfiring or attracting unwanted attention. Made sense to me!

Yeah, what Jenny said. Definitely perform some protection spells. The first of every month, I perform my cinnamon ritual and do a protection/cleanse on my home. Maybe this will give you ideas. I have many spells (chants) for protection, cleansing…let me know if you would like something, you can PM me.
