# Alternative smoke cleansing herb

I heard that white sage is being overharvested so here’s an alternative herb for smoke cleansing.
In China we consider Artemisia argyi H. Lév. & Vaniot (sorry i don’t know the English name of the plant, wormwood and mugwort are not that accurate😭) a plant with healing, protection and purifying properties, and we burn this plant for medicinal and spiritual uses (to keep bad energies out of the body/living space).
It’s part of our cultural tradition and i’m very proud to inherit it.

But make sure that you use it under the guidance of a doctor if you want to treat health problems with it!

I have heard the same about Sage but I am going to start growing my own in the spring. I plan to grow a lot of my own herbs to help with this issue as well as the fact that I can’t find a lot of what I’m looking for.
